Our Needs
What Are We Looking For?

L'Oréal is seeking proposals for new technologies (molecules, compounds, materials, biological/chemical/physical methods) that are ready for testing. Technologies and concepts that could provide a solution to our needs but require further research and development will also be considered. In addition, we want to connect with experts who have new insights or a deep understanding in the areas below.

Note: At this time, we are not interested in advertising, marketing or promotional ideas.

Hair
We are interested in the following areas of innovation in hair technology, which might encompass new knowledge, in vitro and in vivo models, evaluation methods, new molecules and new approaches (e.g., devices, physical methods):
  • Hair growth/loss
  • Hair graying
  • Scalp health, dandruff
  • Hair quality
  • Modifying hair structure
  • 'Bleaching' technologies

SKIN
We are interested in the following areas of innovations in skin technology, which might encompass new knowledge, in vitro and in vivo models, evaluation methods, new molecules and new approaches (e.g., devices, physical methods):
  • Skin aging: wrinkles, age spots and pigmentation, sun damage
  • Skin hydration
  • Greasy skin
  • Sensitive skin
  • Skin microflora and enzymes
  • Perspiration

TAILORED, PERSONALIzED BEAUTY CARE
  • Non-invasive diagnostic techniques for skin and hair
  • Nutrigenomics, interaction between diet and skin/hair
  • Devices

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY TECHNOLOGIES & INGREDIENTS
  • Biogradable ingredients (surfactants, preservatives, etc)
  • Plant-derived ingredients
  • Safe, eco-friendly organic solvents
Immediate Challenges
We are also inviting solutions for these specific challenges:
  • The environment and green chemistry is at the forefront of the criteria that L’Oréal applies when considering a new material. A film-forming polymer that is derived from a renewable vegetable source would be of interest to L’Oréal and we would like to know if you have such a polymer.

  - Formaldehyde-generating agents
  - Ingredients that contain silver or silver salts
  - Triclosan
